Moose!

After years of wanting a puppy we finally got one! Friday, Steve went to Martin, Michigan and picked up our new puppy, Moose.

Why Moose? Well, he's a great dane! YES. We know he'll be big. YES We know that means big messes. The way I look at it. If they are big, they are easier to see and less likely to step on.

After people get over asking the questions about his size and messes, they fall in LOVE with him. He's super sweet, very cuddly, and makes cute little groaning noises.
He's definitely man's best friend. Shortly after this picture, Steve woke him up and he had a little accident on Steve. Ooops! Maybe it was Steve and he just blamed it on the dog. :)

Isn't he sweet? I love those long, soft ears. He sleeps alllll the time.

Our favorite kids, the Feasels, were over all weekend hanging out with him. We're glad Steve has so many cousins around that can help him get used to kids.

The Feasels brought a teddy bear for Moose to cuddle with. He loves it.

Steve snapped this while Moose and I were taking a nap. What a great cuddler!
We decided to use Steve's target in the backyard to track how big he is getting. This is him at 9 weeks. One day, he will be bigger than the deer!

He was very shy and nervous on Friday and Saturday, but today we took him to meet Yankee, Steve's parents' puppy, and he had lots of fun playing with him. We also took him to his grandparents' farm to play with all of the cousins. He had so much fun running through the tall grass, barking at the cows, and jumping on Steve's cousins. Now, he is exhausted and sleeping in in crate.

House Pictures

So, here are some pictures of our house. We are still working on it, but it's beginning to feel like home. Here's my pink laundry room. I knew Steve would rarely (never) be in it so I decided on pink. I mean, if I have to spend time in there...I might as well love the color. It goes really well with my pink giraffe print broom, too. :) Too bad the washer doesn't even work...check out the picture below.
Yup, that's about 3 weeks worth of laundry. It took us a while to get the laundry room ready and then to put the washer/dryer in. Steve hooked it all up yesterday...but the washer doesn't work. :( Grrrrr. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.

This is one of the rooms in the lower level. It's our "game room." It's also the room for Phil, Steve's deer head. Yuck! Notice the bottles on the ledge and beer glasses on the tv stand. I think Steve is trying to make it more manly since it's next to my pink laundry room.

Here's our kitchen w/ new stove and refridgerator. I love them, but they aren't hooked up yet...maybe sooner...maybe later. Until then, we'll be eating PB&J.

Here's our dining room that's attached to the kitchen. We just couldn't get rid of the free table we found by the dumpster in Kzoo.
Here's the living room and Steve's chair.

Here's our most wonderful purchase...the couch and ottoman. If you push the ottoman into the corner, it's like a giant bed! Perfect for friends and family who come to visit!

Just off of the living room is the office where we have our desk/computer, bookshelves, shelves of movies, and a comfy chair.

My mom painted our front doors a couple weeks ago. Thanks Patty! They look great!

Here is one of my projects. I recovered these chairs last weekend to match the living room/office/foyer. They were my grandma's chairs. I pulled off layers of fabric where she had recovered them....60's green, 70's gold burlap, 90's tan/mauve/blue.

Here's the foyer. The table was my grandma's. It's perfect for putting purses and keys on.

My beading room! I am so excited about this room even though I haven't had time to use it. It has a large closet where I can store all of my beading/crafting stuff. I'm really excited to get in there and work. Currently, I have 4 bracelet orders and 2 necklace orders to fill.

Here's the couch in the beading room. It will also be nice for friends and family who come to visit!
Sorry the guest room picture is a little dark. We promise it has lights. Come visit!

Here's our bedroom. I love the green. Steve's parents got us a bedroom suit and sleepnumber mattress. The room is like heaven!
Ahhh, the blue bathroom. I have grown to like it. The only problem is the brown sink/toilet/bathtub, but we'll live with it. I've decided to go w/ the blue/white theme and make it a little beachy. I have a vase of shells and a picture of Lake Michigan/dunes. I think it's going to work.
Here's the mudroom. All four walls look like this. Filled w/ pictures to hang, paint supplies, cleaning supplies, and extra stuff. Eventually, we will have a freezer and an area to hang coats in there.

That's it! There's our house. If you want to come see it in person, let us know. We love it, and we love visitors.

We're Alive!

I have heard from a few friends that we haven't blogged in 3 WEEKS! Ooops! We've been busy...and without internet.

Kar and Justin are here this weekend, and we're headin' to Louies Bakery for doughnuts and then to show them the great town of Marshall so I will just have to blog about everything tomorrow evening.

Until then....just so you know...we're alive...we're happy...we're exhausted...we're in our new house!
