For Steve's birthday, he asked for a wheelbarrow and a load of rocks. Seriously! Now, we have rocks all around our house and in our flower beds. We feel like grown ups.
I also had to brag about our lillies. Every summer they amaze me. They are EVERYWHERE in our front hard. Sadly, they are beginning to wilt so I had to get a picture of them before they are gone.

Crafting for Sprout
When people ask me what I am doing over the summer, I want to say, "Whatever I want," but I feel like I need to say SOMETHING so they don't think I am a giant bum. My answer this summer has been, "Getting ready for Sprout."
Now, this week I WAS a giant bum half of the time. I went to the pool 3 days out of 5, but I was also busy making stuff for my baby girl.
First, I made some bows...and some more bows...and a few more. They all of ribbon covered clips behind them so they can clip onto headbands and hats as well as her hair when she gets bigger. I even made some headbands out of tights!
I also made some baby leg warmers or "babylegs" out of knee high socks. I have some more socks ready but I am waiting on a baby to stop by this week so I can make sure I have the size about right.
Then, I went crazy making burp rags. I made a bunch out of cotton diapers and then some more using cotton, batting, and terry cloth.

We have a plan!
Well, sort of!
Last night, I drug Steve to a fabric store to pick out fabric for Sprout's room. We couldn't leave until we agreed on at least 2 fabrics that would work in her room. Good thing I bribed him with Red Robin for dinner!
Since you aren't supposed to use a bumper or quilt in a crib, I think it's silly to pay for a crib set so I have decided to make a crib skirt and purchase some solid sheets to go with it. I am also going to make a valance, pillow (for the glider), and whatever else I can think of to go in the nursery.
This will be the crib skirt with a pink sheet on the crib:
Then, we will cover panels in the bifold closet doors with this:
*the colors look a bit off in the picture...but you get the idea
I'll do the valances in one of those fabrics as well as a blanket in the pink with green minky backing. I am excited to see how much fabric I have left (I bought a TON) to make anything else I think of. :)
As for the walls, they will be mostly pink with some sort of design/stripe going on that Steve will do. I'm also on the lookout for a pink chandalier!

19 Weeks
*Disregard the makeup-less face. I'm on vacation!
How far along?: 19 Weeks
How big is baby?: The size of a mango!
Weight gain?: 5 pounds
Stretch marks?: not yet
Maternity clothes: Yes, but I have determined I need more ribbed tank tops for the summer. Target, here I come!
Sleep?: When the neighbor dog isn't barking, I sleep great! One morning, I screamed, "shut up" out the window at 7:30 AM. NOT my best moment.
Best moment this week?: I got my hair cut today. She thinned it out a bit and gave me a product for my frizz around my face...thank you, hormones!
Food Cravings?: Cinnamon rolls. I found some at the grocery made by the amish. You just can't beat the amish!
Gender?: We find out on FRIDAY! I'll post the results on Monday.
Movement?: I am still not sure yet. I probably have, but I am not sure what movement feels like.
What I miss?: Sometimes I miss wine.
Belly button: Still in and no signs of coming out...woohoo!
What I'm looking forward to?: Finding out what Sprout is and seeing family at the river this weekend.

Baby Update
How far along?: 17 Weeks
How big is baby?: The size of an onion!
Weight gain?: 3+ lbs...depending on the day (I lost 5 in the first trimester, gained that back, and some more...so who really knows)
Stretch marks?: Nope, but I am sure they're coming.
Maternity clothes: Yes, my old pants still fit, but they aren't near as comfortable. I wear regular tops and maternity tops.
Sleep?: Not too shabby. I am falling asleep on the couch by 9, but having trouble sleeping through the night mostly because of bathroom breaks.
Best moment this week?: Leaving school on Friday ready for a 3 day weekend and finding out my student did NOT have fifths disease (scary!).
Food Cravings?: Sausage biscuits and baked potatoes (not together)
Gender?: We find out in less than 3 weeks!
Movement?: Nope. Still waiting. (Feel free to leave me a comment to tell me when you first felt yours.)
